Once the three previous steps — arguably the key foundations of your website — have been established, it is essential that the design should reflect these initial steps. To achieve this, a simple, modern user experience needs to be implemented, that is up to date with technological trends which reflect the basic needs of your user.

5) Optimised keywords

In the long term, it is important to consider keywords that will be associated to your brand for search engine optimisation purposes. Google is the market leading search engine in the world, with over 67% of the market share. Google’s algorithm is very complicated; however there are core strategies that can be implemented to increase the likelihood of your website ranking higher up pages on Google:

  • Successful integration of keywords in the back end of a website, i.e. meta-tag description, basic coding, etc.
  • Strategically placed keywords in the front end of a website, i.e. page names, titles, keywords in paragraphs/text.
  • Updated social media channels that are linked to your website.
  • Consistent new content on your website, in the form of blog/news posts.

6) Ensure your website is responsive on a variety of platforms

With the amount of devices in the market which allow you to view and open browsers on, it is important to consider how your website appears on various devices through a variety of different browsers.

7) Maximise the speed of your website

The speed of your website is essentially the finishing touch on your website. How fast your website loads on a user’s desktop or mobile, will determine how long a user is likely to remain on your page(s).
